On Sunday, January 2, 2022, we will transition the core database and query engine for the Reporting and Analytics Environment (RAE) to a new type of Amazon Redshift server cluster . The new cluster will enable us to expand our data store to as much as 64 terabytes of data, while providing the same or better query performance and enabling operational cost savings. This change will be transparent to any analyst or system that utilizes the RAE. No changes in connectivity settings are needed. Server endpoints, usernames, passwords, and other information that you use to connect to the RAE will not change.
The Affordable Learning Exchange (ALX) has awarded grants to 21 instructors for 2022. This new cohort is planning to use those funds to support affordability and racial justice projects for courses at Columbus, Lima and Newark campuses. These projects cover a wide range of disciplines—from math to music, art and design to architecture, sociology to psychology. The hard work of these instructors over the next year will result in over $80,000 in direct savings to students!
On Dec. 20, the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) will disable unapproved Microsoft Teams add-ins until they have been through a required legal and risk assessment. As shared in October , progress continues on the retirement of the legacy reporting systems tied to PeopleSoft HR and Finance, and will be complete at the end of calendar year 2021. In preparation for the shutdown, multiple activities have been completed or are ongoing to ensure that business and data analysts will have access to legacy data as needed.
