New Ohio State Zoom Backgrounds

Looking for a change of scene while working remotely? 

Try one of the new Ohio State backgrounds on your next CarmenZoom meeting! Choose your favorite iconic Ohio State setting, and you'll feel right at home...or on campus that is. 

The virtual background feature on Zoom allows users to display an image or video as your background during a Zoom meeting.

Here are the steps to access this feature and upload your image:

1- Browse the Ohio State backgrounds and download your favorite to your computer or device.

2- During your Zoom meeting, select the arrow beside the Video Button on the bottom left of your screen.

3- Select Choose Virtual Background...The Virtual Background settings will open up as a pop-up window.

4- Click the Add Image or Video symbol (+) located under the video preview, on the right side.

5- Select Add Image and upload the desired image from your computer or device. A preview of your background will display and you can close the Settings window.

Pro tips

If you want to make sure you aren’t "O-I-H-O":

Within the Settings Virtual Background tab, check the Mirror my video box. The image will look backwards to you, but will appear normal to the person viewing your video feed. 

If you do not have your Zoom Desktop Client downloaded:

Visit zoom.us/support/download and your download should automatically start within seconds. Next, simply install and sign in with you Ohio State credentials.

If you have never used a virtual background before:

Make sure you log in to your CarmenZoom profile, click “Settings” in the left sidebar, navigate to the Virtual Background  option on the Meeting  tab and verify that the setting is enabled.

Note: You must log out of the Zoom Desktop Client and log in again for this setting to take effect.
