State Authorization Team Receives National Awards

The WCET State Authorization Network awarded The Ohio State University with three national awards this year. These awards recognize good practice in institutional efforts to develop high-quality solutions to state authorization issues. Winning the majority of awards granted this year, Ohio State appears to have the Best Damn State Authorization team in the Land.

Ohio State, represented by Lisa Siefker and Leslie Weibush, won awards in the following categories:

Location: How do you identify where your students are located? Awarded for implementation of a splash page to collect the location of students when they are registering for online courses.

Licensure Programs: Notifications and disclosures. Awarded in recognition of Ohio State’s process of informing licensure track students of required professional licensing board disclosures through institutional websites, outreach, and acceptance letters.

Re-thinking State Authorization: Recognition for the development and implementation of the university Out-of-State Educational Activities Policy. Many institutions are now using this policy as a model to develop similar university-wide policies.

The SANsational Awards recognize Ohio State’s policy and processes as clear and comprehensive solutions to meet requirements of regulators, the institution, and most importantly students.
