State Authorization Deadline Approaching

The data collection process for 2017 National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) reporting has begun! As a reminder, The Oho State University is required to submit an annual report on the location of students participating in out-of-state educational activities to maintain institutional SARA participation.

Participation in SARA allows Ohio State to enroll online students and place students in on-ground field experiences in all 48 member states without seeking individual approvals in each state. This greatly streamlines the process of obtaining state authorizations to offer distance education outside Ohio.

In response to feedback collected during the pilot data collection last January, the State Authorization team has simplified the data collection process by transitioning to semesterly reporting and accepting data in any format. State Authorization Liaisons were asked to communicate this information to their unit, and must submit data to the State Authorization team via the web portal by December 4.

Watch this short video recorded by the State Authorization team for more details about NC-SARA reporting requirements.

Please contact the State Authorization team if you have any questions about the NC-SARA data collection process!
