ePortfolio Pilot Participants Needed

The Office of Distance Education and eLearning (ODEE), in collaboration with The Ohio State University Council on Academic Affairs, is conducting an evaluation of ePortfolio tools in response to new General Education requirements. The new curriculum was passed by the Council on Academic Affairs and endorsed by Faculty Senate in April of 2019. An ePortfolio committee was convened in September to evaluate ePortfolio software solutions, and the committee selected a tool to pilot in spring semester.

For the spring pilot, ODEE is seeking faculty and instructors interested in testing this ePortfolio tool in their class. There will be no cost to the students, and participating students will be asked to provide feedback about their experiences through a single Qualtrics survey. The time needed to complete the student survey should take no more than 20 minutes.

Faculty will be asked to include ePortfolio assignments in their course syllabus, and to conduct ePortfolio submission evaluation through grading tools and rubrics that are created and distributed within the tool, which will be integrated with CarmenCanvas. Assistance with rubrics and grading tools will be available through the ODEE Innovation Management group which is conducting the evaluation, and additional pedagogical support will be available through ODEE Distance Education instructional designers.
