Conference Enables Collaboration with Ohio's Higher Education IT Professionals
The Ohio Higher Education Computing Council (OHECC) brings together information technology (IT) organizations and professionals from institutions of higher education in the state of Ohio. This year Ohio State is hosting the annual OHECC conference on May 17-19, giving central Ohio IT professionals the opportunity to attend without the added cost of travel, meals and accommodations.
The annual conference is a forum to communicate and share ideas, to form state-wide problem solving committees, to negotiate state-wide contracts that give all schools buying discounts and to forge ongoing relationships between IT professionals across the state. This year’s theme is Transforming Technology Experience, and will include themes that mirror Ohio State’s University IT Strategy, which is currently under development. Educational tracks include:
- Mobile First – Technologies, programs or ideas implemented (or in progress) that embrace mobile devices as the primary way people interact or provide a seamless mobile experience on and away from campus.
- Analytics – Technologies, programs or ideas implemented (or in progress) around data and creative uses for strategic and operational decisions.
- Empowering Teaching Innovation – Technologies, programs or ideas implemented (or in progress) that leverage technology solutions and tools to advance adoption of technology-empowered courses and program delivery models in academic areas.
- Advancing Research – Technologies, programs or ideas implemented (or in progress) that use technology solutions to enhance research and attract top researcher talent.
- LeanIT - Technologies, programs or ideas implemented (or in progress) that have helped to reduce waste, variability, and inflexibility in service delivery or major business processes, or has made the use of technology easier for end users.
- Effective Risk Management – Technologies, programs or ideas implemented (or in progress) that help ensure compliance with regulations, information integrity, confidentiality and availability.
- Developing Talent – Technologies, programs or ideas implemented (or in progress) that continually cultivate knowledge and skillsets of IT staff to deliver innovative technology solutions.
Interested in registering? Standard Registration is now open, at a cost of $175 for the entire conference or $115 for one day. Late registration begins on Friday, April 28, when the cost will increase to $200. Space is limited and seats will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
