BuckeyePass to Protect Sponsored Guest Process

Because stolen, compromised or damaged information can lead to unwanted and unnecessary consequences for both staff members and the university, Ohio State is increasingly expanding the use of multifactor authentication. The Sponsored Guest account process will be the latest system to adopt BuckeyePass protection on November 16.

A Sponsored Guest is a way to get a collaborator or other non-employee access to university and/or Ohio State Wexner Medical Center systems. Guests are requested and managed via my.osu.edu. Beginning Wednesday, November 16 at 9:00 p.m., university employees who need to request a new guest account or manage current ones will need to authenticate through BuckeyePass to do so. This change will be made through the system and users do not need to take any action.

Our highest priority is protecting our data – whether the information belongs to you, the university, students or customers. We appreciate your support as we work to improve data security.
