Lab, Classroom, and Conference Room Login Upgrades Continue

This article applies to Managed IT Services partners only.

The Office of Technology and Digital Innovation (OTDI) will continue upgrading technology on remaining lab, classroom, and conference room Windows computers that are managed by OTDI throughout the fall semester, with a goal of completing this project by the end of the calendar year. This technology enhancement will provide a single sign-on experience for Microsoft 365 products, simplify the user experience with Duo, and change the login credentials that are required for these devices.

Once a device is upgraded to the new experience, students will log into OTDI-managed labs and classrooms Windows computers with their lastname.#@buckeyemail.osu.edu and password. Faculty and staff will log in with their lastname.#@osu.edu and password. All users receive a Duo push after entering their Ohio State credentials.

Upon signing in, faculty, staff, and students will have a single sign-on experience with Microsoft 365. This means that additional logins and subsequent Duo prompts will not be required for applications such as OneDrive, Teams, and Office products.

You can check out the new experience in the Conference, Lab, and Classroom Log In Change video.

As locations are updated, signage is posted in the spaces and OTDI is communicating with those units. Newark and COTC locations are not included in this round of upgrades and will be addressed at a later date. OTDI will communicate those dates once they are determined.

If you have any questions about this change, please contact the IT Service Desk at 614-688-4357.

Note: This only effects OTDI-managed devices in labs, classrooms, and conference room spaces. This does not effect the OTDI-managed devices that MITS partners use personally for their daily work.
