Your Ideas Can Improve IT at Ohio State

Have you ever had a great idea that could make your daily work life much easier, but you weren’t sure how to make it happen? Well now there is a simple way to be sure your voice is heard and your innovative idea is considered.

At the beginning of 2016, the OCIO launched the ImproveIT program, consisting of a simple email address and online idea registry. The program allows anyone to submit a service or process enhancement idea to ImproveIT@osu.edu.

The cross-functional ImproveIT Team, led by IT Process Specialist Brian Zieber, then reviews and prioritizes the suggestions and moves selected ideas toward implementation. The end result? Employee-generated service and process improvements start adding value to our organizations. Visit the Staff Resources site to see what processes have been improved with this program so far.

After piloting a few campaigns within OCIO last year, the ImproveIT Team is ready to open up the program to colleagues in ODEE. While ideas can be submitted any time during the year, the ImproveIT Team is hosting a special campaign through the end of February. We’d like you to answer the following question:

“If you can improve one IT process in OCIO, ODEE or Enterprise Security, what would it be and why?”

Submit your responses to ImproveIT@osu.edu before February 28 to participate in this campaign. You can also check out other ideas in the registry in ServiceNow.

Across OCIO and ODEE, change, innovation and simplicity are important goals. We are constantly looking for new ways to support our customers, whether that’s creating a new service or improving a current process. It is important for employees at all levels to voice their opinions on ways to simplify IT at Ohio State.
