Windows 11 Now Available: Update by November 1, 2024

Windows 10 is approaching end of life for devices which means it will no longer be supported or compatible. Windows 11 is now available in self-service for all MITS Windows users. All users are encouraged to update as soon as possible. This update requires you to reboot your device, which can take up to one hour to complete.

You are required perform this update to keep devices updated and secure when Microsoft no longer supports Windows 10. To avoid disruptions in your work, we recommend installing the update via the self-service Portal Manager by November 1, 2024.

  1. The easiest way to access the Software Center is to use the Windows search feature. Click in the search box by the Windows start button and start typing “Software Center.” 

  2. This will show the Software Center app that you can select to open. 

  3. Verify that Updates is selected on the left-hand side of the Software Center, and locate "Windows 11 update.” 

  4. Click the Install button.
