Ohio State has selected PebblePad to serve as an ePortfolio tool in support of the new General Education (GE) program . Representatives from the Office of Technology and Digital Innovation (OTDI) and the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) reviewed multiple tools and examined a wide variety of criteria before choosing PebblePad .
The Affordable Learning Exchange (ALX) has been awarding grants for the past seven years to instructors who want to transform their courses. Grant winners were primarily focused on reducing the cost of their course materials for students. “While these goals remain at the core of the ALX mission, the murder of George Floyd in 2020 prompted us to [...] expand our scope to encompass broader social justice topics," said Ashley Miller. Several instructors at Ohio State share Miller's passion and have taken the opportunity ALX provides to infuse their courses with racial justice.
As part of its ongoing mission to grow and strengthen The Ohio State University’s privacy program, Privacy@Ohio State partners with students, faculty and staff on a variety of initiatives. Over the past semester, the team has implemented a number of transparent practices and tools to support the university’s mission while balancing individual privacy.
Working alongside her lab manager and undergraduate students, Dr. Elizabeth Kirby is in the process of compiling an Introduction to Behavioral Neuroscience textbook. The previous textbook for this course was expensive, and Dr. Kirby’s media has already been able to save students more than $20,000.
Initial sharing of this communication began in February, however, it will remain applicable through June.
The Internet Explorer (IE) web browser will be retired by Microsoft on June 15. Browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, and Safari (Mac) are unaffected.
While there is no mandated action required for users in the university community as part of this change, there are some things to check as the IE June retirement date draws near.
The next round of software updates is now available to install for OTDI-managed workstations via Software Center (for Windows PC) or Ohio State Application Self Service (for Mac).
