To match requirements outlined in the earnings operation policy, the Senior Fiscal Officer approval will now be required for all FDM requests that use the "New Earnings Operation" or "Edit Existing Earnings Operation" form types. Previously, these request types routed to both the SFO and the Cost Center Director roles for approval, and only one of these roles had to approve. This change went into production at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6 ; after this date and time, these request types will no longer route to the Cost Center Director.
Coming Soon : Business Processes Awaiting Action – Journals:
Two new reports, "Business Processes Awaiting Action – Journal Summary" and "Business Processes Awaiting Action – Journal Detail" will soon be released to expand on the "Business Processes Awaiting Action" report suite. These two reports will also be added to the report group "Business Processes Awaiting Action Report Group" and the corresponding dashboard. This reporting will allow end users to locate journals that still have review and approval steps left in the business process.
Find Journals – OSU Enhancement:
The Workday report "Find Journals – OSU" has been updated to include the "Created Date" for the journal on the report output.
Internal Service Provider Billing Enhancements:
The report Internal Service Provider Billing has been enhanced to include additional worktag columns in the output of the report, due to changes to the EIB template. Those columns include Grant Treatment, Sponsor, CSI Code, Prevailing Wage, and Academic Period.
Find Purchase Order Summary – OSU Enhancements:
The report Find Purchase Order Summary – OSU has been enhanced to include additional columns on the output of the report. Those columns include Cost Center Hierarchy 6, Cost Center Hierarchy 7, Cost Center Hierarchy 8 and Cost Center.
Select Sources and Uses Reports Enhanced:
Select reports in the Sources and Uses suite of reports have been enhanced to provide a better experience for infrequent users of financial reports. A summary of the changes, and a list of enhanced reports is available in the full post.
To ensure the appropriate accounting for projects, it is important that considerations made to determine if project is Capital or not. To aid departments and units in making these determinations a detailed guidance document has been added to the B&F website.
For Capitalizable Building Improvements to qualify for capitalization, project expenditures must exceed $100,000 (excluding moveable equipment, which is capitalized separately) and represent significant alterations, renovations, or structural changes that increase the usefulness of the building, enhance its efficiency, or extend its original useful life. To clarify the usage of the two project request sheets within the Project Intake and Capital Planning instance of Adaptive Planning, the Office of Technology and Digital Innovation (OTDI) will be completing the system enhancements described in this post, effective Thursday, February 15 . In addition to the system enhancements mentioned in the " Adaptive Planning – Project Intake and Capital Planning " post, updates to the review process for projects managed in e-Builder that are requested on the All Other Projects sheet will also go into effect on Thursday, February 15 . There are no process changes to project requests on this sheet that do not need to go through e-Builder. See the full post for details about projects managed in e-Builder.
Buckeye Buy internal supplier catalogs now have a Preferred tag assigned to them in Workday. To limit your search to internal supplier catalogs, enter an item description and check the Preferred box in the Item Tags section in the left pane.

Currently, Purchase Requisitions, Spend Authorizations, Non-PO Invoices, and Expense Reports without Spend Authorizations are reported on the weekly grant transaction confirmation email sent out to Principal Investigators (PI) for their relevant Grants. Additionally, Misc. Payment Requests will start to be included on this report during the month of February. This is the final update and will ensure that our PIs can review all non-personnel charges against their Grants via this weekly reporting.
