  • New Catering and Event Rental Catalogs in Buckeye Buy Jan. 1

New hosted catalogs for drop-off and full-service catering and event equipment rental services are now in Buckeye Buy. These catalogs have replaced "The Catering Marketplace" supplier website which was removed from Buckeye Buy at the close of business on Friday, December 27.

Below are answers to common order placement questions.

    Order Placement Q&A

Where can I find the new catering and equipment rental catalogs in Buckeye Buy?

All catering and event rental catalogs will be located under the Search Catalog link in Buckeye Buy.

What is the best way to search?

A successful catalog search should begin with service description (drop-off catering service, full-service catering or event equipment rental service) followed by the supplier name. Please note that the full-service catering catalogs will include a separate line for event alcohol purchases tied to spend category SC10409.

Checking the box next to the supplier name under the “Catalog” chevron in the left margin is also an effective way to narrow any search.

Where should I add tips, service charges or delivery charges to my requisition?

The new catalogs do not include separate lines for delivery charges, service charges or tips. The dollar value of delivery charges on the supplier quote should be entered in the freight field on the requisition header.

Tips and service charges should be entered in the “other charges” field directly below the freight field. See screenshot below.

Where will I find menus and discount information?

Refer to the contract book page links below for supplier contact information, discounts and any service charges or minimum order requirements that may apply. Menus will also be on the contract book pages by Thursday, January 9. Please note that menus will not show the OSU contracted price. Refer to the caterers website or contact the Marketplace Team at BF-Marketplace@osu.edu if you need a menu before they are available on the contract book page.

Contact BF-Marketplace@osu.edu or (614)292-2694 with order entry questions.

  • Enhancements to "Find Suppliers - OSU" Report

New prompts have been added to the "Find Suppliers - OSU" report. Users can now prompt on the "Last Updated On or After" and "Last Updated On or Before" dates. The "Last Updated Date" has also been added as a column on the output of the report.

  • CarmenZoom: Enable Interpretation Options in Meetings and Webinars

You will now see two new setting options when scheduling your meetings and webinars for CarmenZoom. There is now an Interpretation section where users can enable and assign interpreters.

Note that these features do not provide automatic translation, but allow for more seamless integration of third-party interpreters into meetings and webinars.

  • Canvas: New AI-based tools for Instructors

Instructors have access to 2 new AI-based tools in their Carmen courses.

Once enabled as a feature option, the Discussion Summary option allows an instructor to request a summary of a particular discussion thread. Instructors may also ask specific questions about the thread's content. Currently, there is a limit of 25 summary generations per user per day. This feature is only visible to the instructor role.

The Smart Search feature can be enabled as a feature option. Smart Search provides a page where users can enter keywords that return pages in the course that are directly or indirectly relevant. Instructors can then make Smart Search available to the entire course or leave it in the "hidden" area of the course navigation to limit access to instructional staff.
