Your Workday profile is more than just a name; it’s a chance to show up and be seen! Whether you're collaborating across departments or connecting with new colleagues, a professional photo helps put a face to the name and builds a stronger sense of community. Now, you can personalize your Workday profile with a photo that reflects your role and personality—while supporting a welcoming and professional digital environment.
Adding a photo is optional but encouraged. It’s a small step that can make a big difference in how we connect and communicate across Ohio State.
Workday Profile Photo Standards:
To keep things consistent and professional, listed below are a few guidelines to follow when selecting your photo.
Recommended:
- A recent headshot (shoulders and above) of you only
- Business attire that reflects your role (business casual or department-appropriate)
- A plain or solid-colored background with minimal distractions
- A neutral or friendly expression, facing the camera directly—smiles are welcome!
Please Avoid:
- Full-body shots, baby photos, or group pictures
- Images with other people, pets, or busy backgrounds
- Avatars, cartoons, memes, or heavily edited images
- Poses or gestures that may appear exaggerated, suggestive, or unprofessional
- Any content that could be interpreted as discriminatory, profane, or offensive
These standards reflect Ohio State’s Shared Values and help create a digital space rooted in trust, belonging, and care.
A Few More Things to Know:
- Your photo may enlarge when clicked in Workday.
- It will be visible to anyone with access to Workday.
- You can upload or change your photo via a web browser or the Workday mobile app (experience may vary by device).
- All photos are subject to review by OHR and may be removed if they don’t meet the standards.
