As shared in early February, University Libraries is transitioning to a Managed IT Services (MITS) Core partner through the Office of Technology and Digital Innovation (OTDI). This change will bring more secure, reliable technology and ongoing technical service improvements. We also encourage you to listen to the recent City of Ohio State podcast, where MITS relationship manager Courtney Sanders discussed the many benefits offered to MITS customers.
To prepare for the transition, Libraries and OTDI IT teams have already started work behind the scenes on servers, switches, security and other technical components. As early as mid-March, you may start to notice the first visible changes, including seeing OTDI staff in the building.
As we moved forward, we will continue to communicate upcoming activities in advance to help minimize disruption and keep staff informed. Updates will be shared using a variety of channels, including:
- Libraries LiNKS posts and staff emails
- MITS Webpage
- OTDI IT Service Desk emails via servicedesk@osu.edu
- System Status page for planned maintenance and service interruptions
We know technology transitions can bring questions. Our teams are here to help and will support you throughout this transition. Please continue submitting IT requests through the Libraries Hub Ticket, visit the Buckeye Bar or call 614-688-4357 for urgent needs. You can also email the OTDI IT Service Desk at servicedesk@osu.edu with questions.
