Teams Updates Streamline Collaboration Across Ohio State

Updates are coming to Microsoft Teams to create a more streamlined experience for Ohio State users as a multitenant organization (MTO). On April 17, university and medical center staff will see changes that simplify collaboration between their units.

Improved people search and chat experience

Previously, searching for a user in Teams could often return multiple results for the same person over different tenants. Now searches will always return a single result, and messages to them will stay in a single chat.

Easier meeting experience

Medical center employees can now easily join meetings created by university employees, and vice versa, without waiting to be admitted. Users from the medical center will not need additional permissions to access screen share or other features.

Shared channels for cross-tenant collaboration

Users across Ohio State can now chat, call, meet and collaborate on files across different tenants of Teams through invites to a shared channel.
