Seeing performance issues when searching in Workday? Below are troubleshooting tips that may help. For general search information, see Workday Search Overview in the Administrative Resource Center (ARC).
- Update your Search Preferences to New Federated Workday Search, if needed. If you update your Search Preferences, review your pinned search categories as described in the next bullet as well.
To update: Click your picture or profile icon on the right side of the header and select My Account > Change Preferences. Scroll to the Search Preferences section and change the Workday Search Provider to New Federated Workday Search. - Update your pinned search categories to include the categories you search for most often. For example, if you often search for journal entires, be sure you have pinned the Financial Accounting category. From the Search Results page, select All Categories > Edit Category Preferences. For more information, see Configure Your Search Results in the ARC.
Note: If you are not using Simplified Search, the theory is the same but you’ll be updating your saved search categories. - Use a search prefix followed by a colon to narrow your search results to a particular item within Workday. Common examples include journal:, spendauth:, grant:, and worker:. Search for “?” in the global search bar or use the “View Search Tips” link on the Search Results page for a complete list of available search prefixes.
