To avoid login interruptions, OTDI recommends that everyone updates the Duo Mobile app on their phone or tablet to version 4.104 or higher by Feb. 2, 2026. Older versions of Duo Mobile may stop receiving push notifications, which could prevent access to BuckeyePass protected services like BuckeyeMail, CarmenCanvas, and Workday.
What to do
- Update Duo Mobile in the Apple App Store or Google Play to version 4.104 or later.
- Make sure notifications are enabled for Duo Mobile. If push notifications don’t work after Feb. 2, open the app, verify your version, and check your phone’s notification settings.
- If your device cannot update, you can still use Duo Mobile passcodes or add another authentication method.
How to Check Your Installed Duo Mobile Version
- Open the Duo Mobile app.
- Tap the three-line menu icon (☰) in the upper-left corner.
- Scroll to the bottom — the version number will be displayed there.
Use the instructions above to see what version you have; the app store reflects the latest version available to download which may not reflect which version you have installed.
Note on numbering: Duo Mobile uses semantic versioning — versions above 4.99 (like 4.100+) are newer even though numerically they look smaller than 5.0.0 (per semantic rules). The newest version of Duo is 4.104. The oldest version permitted that will still work effectively is 4.85.
