  • Tuition Assistance Key Dates Spring 2025

    This article shares information about key dates for Spring 2025 tuition assistance (or fee authorization) processing as well as links to more information about the tuition assistance programs at the university.

    Employee and Dependent Tuition Assistance

    More information about Faculty and Staff Tuition Assistance and Dependent Tuition Assistance, including eligibility and enrollment details, are available on HR Connection.

    Graduate Associate and Fellow Tuition Assistance

    Appointment dates: On or before 1/1/25 through 5/3/25. Refer to the Activity and Payment Dates for Graduate Associates by Semester for the specific dates that should be used when entering period activity pay.

    Target date for entering Spring 2025 Period Activity Pay: 12/12/24 - Refer to hrconnection.osu.edu for the complete timeline of Key Processing Dates.

    PAP can be entered later, when necessary. The target date is set to minimize questions and concerns from Graduate Associates and Fellows since tuition assistance is not reflected on their statement of account until the PAP is entered and approved. More information is available in the Graduate Fee Authorization job aid including details about costing allocations, period activity pay, and fiscal considerations.

    Target fee authorization posting dates (subject to change):

    • Encumbrances: by 1/22/25 (usually third week of the term)
    • Actual expenses: by 3/4/25 (usually ninth week of the term)

  • Christmas Holiday Check Printing

    The last check run for Accounts Payable will occur on December 19, 2024, and all approvals will need to be completed prior to 10:00 a.m. that day.

    In observance of the Christmas Holiday, there will be no check run the week of Monday, December 23 through Friday, December 27. All approvals processed after the December 19 deadline, will be included in the January 2 check run.

  • Resolved Discrepancies Between PI Portal and Workday Reporting

    The updates listed below have been made to PI Portal and Workday Grants Reporting to ensure data is accurate and in-sync. Questions about the changes can be directed to orhelpdesk@osu.edu.

    • Cost Share Facilities and Administrative (F&A) costs updated to accurately calculate for $0 F&A exception
    • Payroll fringe benefit discrepancies resolved
    • Adjustments made to ensure proper use of Plan Structure, Budget Amendment Status and Award Line Life Cycle Status
    • Corrections with Spend Category and Object Class Mappings
    • PI Portal has been reloaded and reconciled for all the Expenditure data since the inception of Workday
    • New process is in place to reconcile expenditures between PI Portal and Workday Monthly
  • New Supplier Websites in Buckeye Buy as of Nov. 18

    Two new supplier websites are available in Buckeye Buy Marketplace Quotes.

    New AutoZone supplier website:

    Auto parts supplier AutoZone has joined Buckeye Buy with a supplier website catalog. At login, users will select from a drop down of university locations before searching for product. The location selection will determine which AutoZone store will fulfill the order.

    Microsoft is now offering Copilot Academy, a structured learning experience designed to help users develop skills and effectively use Microsoft 365 Copilot. Ohio State users who have purchased Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses can use this as a resource to get the most out of the application.     The Copilot Academy aims to provide educational content within Viva Learning, helping users learn about, discover, and use Microsoft 365 Copilot effectively. You can access it through the Viva Learning app in Microsoft Teams or directly via the Viva Learning web app. This ensures that you have the flexibility to learn at your own pace and convenience.

    Copilot Academy includes hands-on learning activities and experiences from Microsoft, providing a comprehensive learning journey that caters to both beginners and advanced users.

    • For beginners, the academy includes foundational courses and introductory materials that help them understand the basics of Microsoft 365 Copilot and how to use it effectively. These resources are designed to be easy to follow and provide a solid starting point for new users.
    • For advanced users, the academy offers more in-depth and specialized content that delves into advanced features and functionalities of Microsoft 365 Copilot. This might include complex use cases, advanced tips and tricks, and expert-level guidance to help experienced users maximize their productivity and efficiency.
       

    Access Copilot Academy through Viva Learning in Teams

    To access the Copilot Academy, ensure you have a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. To get started with Viva Learning in Teams, follow these steps:

    1. Open Microsoft Teams: Launch Teams on your desktop or mobile device.
    2. Access Viva Learning:
      • On the desktop app, click on the ellipsis (...) on the left sidebar and select Viva Learning.
      • On the mobile app, tap More (..) at the bottom right corner and select Viva Learning.
    3. Explore Learning Content: Discover, share, and recommend learning content from various sources like LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft Learn, and more.
