Instructor-led training (ILT) is in-person training scheduled for a certain time and place, either in a classroom or online, such as a webinar or livestream. ILT is comprised of events and sessions.
- Events are the basic information about a course, including the name, description, and other permanent features. Each course is one event.
- Sessions are the specific times and dates of events. Sessions can have different locations, times, dates, instructors, and other features. There may be multiple sessions for each event. Learners must select a session for each event they wish to attend.
Training
Creating and Managing Instructor-Led Training: This course introduces new administrators to the instructor-led training functionality in BuckeyeLearn. While this training is primarily intended for instructor-led training (ILT) administrators, it is also useful to learning and OU admins who create and manage instructor-led training.
Job Aids
While all administrators, including ILT administrators, must follow the Content Inclusion and Distributed Administration Standards and other processes and requirements, the distributed administration of BuckeyeLearn means that your area’s internal processes related to ILT may be different from those of other areas. Below are the basic instructions for performing ILT tasks. Contact your OU admin with any questions about how your area handles specific ILT functions.
- Create a New Event: create the basic information about a course, including the name, description, and other permanent features
- Create a New Session: create the specific times and dates of of your training
- Cancel a Session: cancel a session
- Email Learners Registered for Instructor-Led Training: email learners who are registered for a session
- Managing Rosters:
- Print Roster: print a sign in sheet for a session
- Add Learners to a Roster: learners must often be added to the roster when they are walk-ins to in-person training
- Bulk Upload Learners to a Roster: bulk upload the learners to a roster
- Move a Session Roster from One Event to Another Event: move a session roster from one event session to a new event session
- Move Roster from One Session to Another Session of the Same Event: move a session roster needs to be moved from one session to a session within the same event
- Remove Learners from a Roster: remove learners from rosters when they are unable to withdraw from a session on their own
- Submit a Roster: submitting the roster marks the training complete on a learner’s transcript and provides proof of attendance
- Instructors
- Add an Instructor to a Vendor: before an instructor can be added to an event or session, they must be added to the event or session's vendor
- Remove an Instructor from a Vendor: remove instructors when they are no longer needed
