Project Management
Project management is the process of planning, organizing, and managing tasks to achieve a specific goal. This could involve anything from developing new software to relocating a department's offices. By breaking down complex tasks into smaller, more manageable parts, project management allows you to keep track of progress and report on it effectively.
While there are many different approaches to project management, having a basic set of templates and foundational knowledge can be incredibly valuable. If you're planning a project at the university, the following resources from OTDI could be very helpful.
Templates
Curated from project managers across OTDI, these are templates other have found extremely helpful in organizing and planning their project work. Feel free to download and customize these to suit the unique needs of your project. If you have templates you think others could benefit from, please contact Dietrich Eubank.
Training Resources
Our Project Management Fundamentals series takes you through the basic components of successful project management. You can take the entire series or jump directly to the module you need.
Mentoring
Our project managers offer mentoring and job shadowing opportunities for those interested in gaining project management experience, either as a way to explore new career opportunities or to gain hours in order to sit for the PMP certification. Please contact Dietrich Eubank (eubank.29@osu.edu), Director of Portfolio Management, for more information.
