Over the winter break, updates were made to Carmen Canvas , Mediasite and Zoom to make sure these tools were ready for a new semester at Ohio State. You may notice preferred last names across Carmen, the removal of Box integrations, a new look and feel for MyMediasite and an easy way to import your Zoom cloud recordings into Mediasite .
We previously shared that beginning November 1, you would be prompted to update your Zoom app when joining a meeting if the app was more than 9 months old. Based on customer feedback and the upcoming holiday season, Zoom has decided to delay this change until 2022.
Beginning November 1, if your Zoom desktop or mobile app is more than 9 months old, you will be prompted to update before you can attend a meeting . Going forward, in order to use Zoom, you must be updated to one of the latest versions.
You can now add pronouns to your display name in CarmenZoom and make them visible across all your meetings, if desired. In order to use this feature, you must be using Zoom version 5.7.0 or newer, and you must be logged in to your CarmenZoom account.

We previously announced that the Zoom cloud retention rate would change from 270 days to 120 days beginning December 18. However, we have managed to extend the date of that change to February 5, 2021 .
While you are preparing for the upcoming spring semester, you will notice a few feature enhancements and changes within the learning management system. The most prominent change will be the new Rich Content Editor (RCE), which has been available to test since February 2020. Along with this change, we will be enabling enhancements for student assignments and there will be slight changes to the Gradebook and the Upload/Record Media button in the RCE.
