Materials

A material learning object uses an organization's own documentation. Materials can be assigned and reported on like other types of learning objects.

Materials can link to many types of documentation, but the most common are

  • Documents (doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, pps, ppsx, pdf, jpeg, jpe, jpg, gif, or zip; if uploaded maximum file size 50 MB)
  • Podcasts
  • Videos
  • Websites

After reviewing the material, learners must return to their transcript and click the Mark Complete button

mark complete button

for the material to be completed.

All materials must be accessible to learners with disabilities. For information on making your materials accessible, contact your area’s Accessibility Coordinator.

Job Aids

  • Create a material: create a learning object that uses an organizations own documentation.
  • Edit a material: after you create a material, you may need to edit it.
  • Copy a material: if you have many materials with few differences between them, it can be faster to copy and edit materials than to create new ones
