Link an Accessible Version to an Online Course

Administrators can create alternate accessible versions for online courses.

For online courses that contain assessments, the best practice for creating an accessible version of an online course is to create a material and a test in BuckeyeLearn, and then create a curriculum with the material and test included in the curriculum. The curriculum will be considered the alternate accessible version.

Critical Note:

Administrators, not the BuckeyeLearn Support team, are responsible for ensuring accessibility. Each area of the university has at least one accessibility coordinator. Contact yours with any questions.

  1. Set the equivalency for the online course.

    Helpful Note:

Add the Training Equivalence to the online course. Select the alternate accessible version learning object as the training equivalence. Do not check the Bidrectional box.

  2. Create a deep link to the training details page for the alternate accessible version.
  3. Update the description for the online course.

    Helpful Note:

Follow the BuckeyeLearn Standards for Training Descriptions. Use blue or red text for links and email addresses.

    1. Access the Course Console for the online course.
    2. Edit the description.
    3. Add the deep link to the alternate accessible version training details page to the text of the description.
