The level of access a new employee has in BuckeyeLearn and whether a manager can assign training to them is driven by:
- The Hire action in Workday
- The new employee’s start date
When the new employee has the “Hire” Business Process completed in Workday

The new employee can
- log into BuckeyeLearn with their lastname.# and OSU single sign-on password
- search for and register for a limited amount of training titles
The manager will not see the new employee under “My Team” in BuckeyeLearn and will not be able to assign training to them.
When the new employee reaches their start date listed in Workday
The new employee will
- appear in the manager’s team in Workday
- be included in any automated learning assignments (for more information, please view the Common Training Courses or contact your area’s BuckeyeLearn administrator)
