Purpose
Use this checklist to document learning assignments that involve 100 or more learners to guide the development of the learning assignment and ensure that all relevant parties agree about the learning assignment details.
Identify Assignment Group
Work with your area's HR to determine the population/audience who will receive the assignment and verify the data with the unit HR Representative. This can be done by unit, department, job code, location, etc. If you have questions, contact the BuckeyeLearn Support team.
Determine Due Date (if applicable)
Determine the training due date and inform HR and the OU admin.
Create Communication about the Assignment
Review the Communicating about Learning Assignments job aid for information that must be included in learning assignment communications. The BuckeyeLearn Support team can also provide guidance and suggestions based on common questions.
Obtain Communication Approvals
Communications must be reviewed and approved by:
- Your area's HR
- BuckeyeLearn Support
Inform Others about the Learning Assignment
Communicate with relevant stakeholders before the leaning assignment is critical:
- Learning object content owner/OU admin: if you do not own the learning object you are assigning, you must contact the owner for permission before you assign it
- Managers: although managers may not affect whether or not the learning assignment occurs, it is best practice to inform managers before learning assignments are made
Provide Final Sign-off
Before creating the learning assignment, final sign off of the learning assignment is required from:
- HR Representative’s Email Address
- Requestor’s Email Address
