The web interface is a simple fast way to connect to Ohio State’s Virtual Desktop, however there are multiple limitations to the web app. Users on a PC may choose to use the Windows Application on their windows machine.
Currently Mac is in testing. More information can be found at External Identities and macOS
External Identities will typically access the virtual desktop service from an Unmanaged Device or a Personal Device. This means that the Office of Technology and Digital Innovation does not manage the device, another area on campus does not manage the device, and the user owns the device. Installing the Virtual Desktop client will depend on the operating system of the device. See Installing the Client on Unmanaged Devices for details.
Once the Windows App has been installed External Identities will need to take a few extra steps to connect to virtual resources and use their Microsoft 365 resources, such as your OneDrive account. Please see Using Virtual Desktop as an External Identity.
