Aaron Neal

Aaron Neal serves as deputy chief information officer and associate vice president for Infrastructure and Networks at The Ohio State University. In this role, he provides strategic leadership for the university’s technology infrastructure, networking and statewide partnerships that advance research, learning and outreach across Ohio. He also supports collaborations with the Ohio Technology Consortium (OH-TECH) and other partners that strengthen Ohio’s shared technology ecosystem.

Neal brings more than 30 years of experience in information technology, higher education and digital transformation. Prior to joining Ohio State, he held several senior leadership roles at Indiana University, including interim chief information officer and deputy CIO and associate vice president for Networks and Security, where he led enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity and network initiatives across IU’s campuses and national collaborations. He also served as associate vice president for Enterprise Systems, overseeing university-wide academic and administrative systems, data centers and enterprise applications.

Neal previously served as chief executive officer of the Unizin Consortium, a national collaboration of research universities focused on advancing digital learning and data-driven student success. A graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, he also spent more than a decade in the private sector leading system development initiatives in the manufacturing and advertising industries.
