This instructional guide provides the sequence of information and forms required for requesting and granting a staff member system access to the Student Information System (SIS).
Step 1 - Complete IDP Training
The System User must complete the Institutional Data Policy online training prior to being granted access to any Administrative System at Ohio State including SIS.
Step 2 - Locate System Access Contact
The System User or Supervisor should locate Authorized System Access Contact from the OSU Administrative Systems Access Contact List (MS Excel download) and then work with the System Access Contact to determine new or changed user access.
Step 3 - Complete Access Request Form
The Authorized System Access Contact must complete the Student Information System Access Request Form (MS Word download).
Step 4 - Verify and Validate Request
The OTDI Data Security Specialist should:
- Verify the appropriate form has been received.
- Verify the Institutional Data Policy Training has been completed.
- Validate the request and grant access to the new system user.
- Confirm to the original Authorized System Access Contact requestor that access is granted and that new system user may be notified.
