MacOS Big Sur Coming Soon

The following applies to all Managed IT Services partners.

Apple has released its new operating system, MacOS Big Sur. MacOS Big Sur is currently being reviewed by our team to ensure it meets security and compatibility requirements. At the moment, we recommend you do not download it on your device.

There are a few issues with applications that need to be sorted out before we release it. Some of the main concerns include:

  • Symantec Endpoint Protection
  • Symantec DLP
  • Jamf management software 
  • System configuration changes

The OCIO Customer Solutions desktop support team will provide a follow-up message as soon as it is approved for our environment. If you need to upgrade now and require an exception, please contact the IT Service Desk via Self Service, by phone at 614-688-HELP (4357) and select option 3 or by email at servicedesk@osu.edu.
