Designing in Digital Signage means being able to create layouts and campaigns and have them display in the appropriate resolutions for the screens. This article will guide you through the basics of creating a layout and developing a campaign.
Layouts are the bread and butter of the Xibo system. They hold all of the content that will end up on the displays.
Campaigns are a collection of one or more layouts in the CMS. They are useful when managing several layouts scheduled to a display, or even when simple play order is desired. They also reduce the visual clutter that comes from having a large number of layouts scheduled at once.
Resolutions
These are pre-defined layout sizes, measured in pixels: width x height, that is used in a layout. The most common are 1080p [1920x1080] (HD) and 2160p [3840x2160] (UHD). Keep in mind that the option you choose should consider the hardware specs of the monitor. For best performance and compatibility between varying installations, we recommend 1080p.
Please reach out to the Digital Signage team if you find that you need additional resolutions defined.
