Can Your Courses Beat the Competition?
On November 10, educators around the world will participate in Fix Your Content Day 2026, a 24-hour event hosted by Blackboard Ally that encourages institutions to improve the accessibility of course content.
Using Ally in CarmenCanvas, faculty and staff can identify opportunities to improve the accessibility of course materials and contribute to Ohio State's standing on the event's live global leaderboard. Whether you make one improvement or fifty, every update helps create a more inclusive learning experience for students.
How to Participate
Ohio State is registered for the competition, so no individual registration is required.
- Set aside time on Tuesday, Nov. 10 to review accessibility opportunities in your courses.
- Use Ally to identify content with red or orange accessibility indicators.
- Start with quick wins. Use Ally Quick Fixes to find simple, high-impact improvements, such as adding alternative text to images, improving document structure, or fixing broken links. The Course Accessibility Report can help you identify these issues.
- Each fix made using Ally is recorded and reported to a live leaderboard. File fixes and fixes made in the Rich Content Editor using Instructor Feedback contribute to the score.
Why Participate?
Small changes can have a big impact. Fix Your Content Day is a fun opportunity to improve your course content, learn more about accessibility, and join educators worldwide in creating more inclusive learning environments.
Together, we can make our digital learning environment more accessible for all learners.

Hi again,
It's one week until Fix Your Content Day, and campuses across the globe are gearing up to compete for the same goal: building a more accessible learning experience that invites every student into our classes.
This is a friendly competition, but we want to climb that leaderboard — and the only way to do it is fix after fix after fix. So don't stop at one. Open a course, find an issue, fix it, then find the next one. Keep going as long as you can on November 10th.
A few of the highest-impact places to start:
- Open your Course Accessibility Report and pick one of the Ally Quick Fix items to start remediating issues that are the easiest to correct.
- Use the AI alt text assistant to knock out missing image descriptions in seconds instead of writing each one from scratch. Be sure to review the AI suggestion for the appropriate context and make edits where needed before saving.
- Use the Accessibility Checker inside Carmen’s Rich Content Editor (RCE) to quickly select color and color contrast recommendations that meet accessibility requirements.
Every fix moves us up the board and makes a real difference for a student somewhere in our courses. Let's see how far we can climb together!
Mark your calendar for Nov. 10, and watch for one more reminder the day before.
