An electronic signature (e-signature) is a signature that is provided electronically via the system. A training completion e-signature is provided by a user to confirm or indicate that they have completed the training. Users may be required to provide a training completion e-signature before a learning object (LO) is completed.
- Electronic signatures and acknowledgements in BuckeyeLearn should be used when the content presented is learning/training oriented, but does not warrant an assessment. Signatures should not be used instead of an assessment if measuring actual learning would be more effective.
- Electronic Training Completion Signature must meet university guidelines for electronic signatures.
- The electronic signatures and acknowledgments feature in BuckeyeLearn should not be used when eSignature (through Docusign) may be more appropriate for non-learning/training content.
- Those using the functionality must document an Opt-Out procedure including contact information for completion of a signature in person, retaining manually signed document(s), and manually marking the learner complete in BuckeyeLearn and wok with the unit OU admin to include opt out language in the Signature Message (500 character limit).
