How to Make ePayments

Scenario: Student wants to pay his tuition and fees.

Sign into BuckeyeLink - My Buckeye Link

 buckeyelink.osu.edu - Payment (Student) task found in Payments and Refunds

Student's Steps 

Brutus's My Buckeye Link Page featuring Academics, Finances, Personal Information, Holds, To Do List, Enrollment Information and Advisor sections.
  1. Navigate to the My Buckeye Link page. 

  2. In the Finances section, select  

    SIS - Student Financials Make A Payment button

The Payment Options page appears.

The Payment Options page includes the following payment options: Make a Payment, Guardian Setup and Mail a payment.

Helpful Note

Prior to selecting the Make a Payment button, please ensure that your internet browser's pop-up blockers are disabled.

 

The Ohio State University ePayment Site , CASHNet landing page. Two areas are highlighted where students can make payments. the navigation panel and at the bottom right corner of the page.
  1. Once the OSU ePayment Site appears, discover the locations you can select to Make a Payment.
  2. Select the Make a payment button.

  1. Confirm or change the amount to be paid in the Amount box.
  2. Select the Continue button.

  1. Select a Payment Method from the drop-down menu:
    • Credit or debit card
    • New bank account
    • Foreign currency
 

Helpful Note

Credit or debit card payments are made using CASHNet SMARTPAY.  A non-refundable vendor fee will be added to each card transaction.

The Ohio State University ePayment site CASHNet Payment method page. This page is designed for the user to designate how they would like to pay. Users can select the Payment method, Enter account holder name, select account type and enter Routing transit number, Bank account number and confirm account number. A cancel button and continue button are at the bottom of the page.

  1. The following information is needed to complete payment transactions:

    • Checking/Savings Accounts
    • Account holder name
    • Account type
    • Routing transit number
    • Bank account number
    • Confirm bank account number
    The Ohio State University ePayment site CASHNet Payment method page. This page is designed for the user to enter card information if they have elected to pay by credit or debit card. Users can, enter Card number, expiration date, security code and zip and postal code information. A cancel button and continue button appear at the bottom of the page.


    Credit Cards

    • Card Number
    • Expiration date
    • Security code
    • Zip/Postal code

Foreign Currency

If Foreign Currency is selected, follow the accompanied prompts as you navigate through the payment option.

 

Helpful Note

Select the checkbox to Save bank account for future use.

  1. Select the Continue button.

  1. Verify that the payment you have is accurate.
  2. Select the Pay button .
  3. Verify that the payment information you have provided is correct.

Once the transaction is approved, a receipt will appear and a confirmation will be sent to your guardian account e-mail address.

The Ohio State University ePayment site/CASHNet payment receipt. The receipt displays the amount paid with a green checkmark along with the amount of the payment and any remaining balance. A statement also displays a receipt number and the email address it has been sent to. A Go to preview button appears at the bottom of the page.
 

Helpful Note

CASHNet ePayments are posted in real time. Guardians can see payments posted to their student's account in the "Your Recent CASHNet Transactions" section and post to your My Buckeye Link on the same business day.
