BuckeyeLearn has three separate versions of the system - called environments - that are used for different purposes.
While your username is the same in all environments, each environment has a separate password. If you forget your password, contact the IT Service Desk.
Live
- Live is where learners log in to take training that appears on their transcripts
- This is where admins enter and manage their training for learners to take
- Live is updated daily with information from the university’s human resources system
- There is a separate administrative login page that only administrative users can use
Pilot
- Pilot is used for
- Administrator training
- Testing functionality
- Testing configuration changes
- Determining how certain actions will work when implemented in Live
- Pilot contains old data and is refreshed with data from Live once or twice a year
- Processing in Pilot is slower than in Live, and it may take more time for actions to be completed
- There is a separate administrative login page that only administrative users can use
Testing Examples
Some things that admins might test in Pilot include
- A new online course feature works as expected when reporting completion to BuckeyeLearn
- The sign-up process for a multi-day in-person course is smooth for learners
- A curriculum with optional elements works as expected
Stage
- Used for testing Cornerstone’s quarterly releases by the BuckeyeLearn Support team before the release is deployed in the live environment
- As of August 2020, used for testing Workday user data and integrations
- As of August 2020, contains user data from both the PeopleSoft and Workday Human Resources systems
- Contains old data and is refreshed with data from Live several times a year
- Processing in Stage is slower than in Live, and it may take more time for actions to be completed
