CFAES IT Team Progress
The CFAES IT team is working on a variety of projects including research, web and application support. Below are some highlights from December.
CFAES IT Team Progress
- AEDE – DTN ProphetX Digital Accessibility Evaluation
- Communications – Replaced the profile system on cfaes.osu.edu for listing the college leadership and maintaining their profiles.
- Dean’s Office – Updated to Facilities and Planning website.
- Extension – PEARS Accessibility Evaluation/Exception process. New development site for HOPEE https://hopee-dev.cfaes.ohio-state.edu, December Issue of JOE, Report to the EJI Board and Board Teleconference. Renewal of EJI Domains (joe.org, ejiboard.org). A new blog created for the Ohio Grape Website. Developed a release candidate for an Ohio Map Module that will go into accessibility testing in January.
- FABE – Assisted with a password reset for a unique Windows XP system. Assisted grad student with migrating from Amazon Web Services to Ohio Supercomputer Center for modeling environmental audio data in RStudio.
- Wooster Campus Facilities Services – Setup the PuTTY to support secure network connection to the fuel key generator system.
- FST – RedJade security and accessibility evaluations. Assisted with computer replacements for Zeiss microscope and one high-performance computer.
- HCS – Repaired problems with Argos system in Howlett Greenhouse. Added functionality to web sites supporting Corn, Soybean and Forage Crops. Updated the Weather Summary page on the CFAES Mesonet site to include a 30-year average daily air temperature to compare to the daily temp for the year. Fixed issue with Person profiles on Mercer Lab site. FarmOS risk assessment and accessibility evaluations.
- PAAR – Implemented multi-factor authentication for critical systems in the facility.
- RAGE - Updated the CFAES Student Fellowship and Associateship Competition site to reflect the new rubric for 2020. Updated carpooling processes for Wooster and Columbus grad students.
- SENR – GAMS Accessibility Review
- South Centers – HR Hero security and accessibility reviews. Replaced a power supply panel on ICPMS.
- 4 website editor training sessions were held with 12 attendees. Presented to Franklin Park Conservatory on using technology to create virtual tours and teaching resources.
