Bulk Device Registrations

The device registration system only allows IT administrators to register a device one at a time. However, for situations wherein many devices (20+) need to be registered, IT administrators can request OTDI Networking to register the devices in bulk on their behalf.

Preparing the File

The Excel workbook below contains three tabs:

  • README: Instructions you should read first before filling out the form
  • ImportDevices: Table that will need filled out and saved as a CSV per instructions in the README and below
  • Calculated_Fields: Tables used by the ImportDevices tab for calculated values. Do not modify.

Critical Note:

Before requesting a bulk import, realize that the process always generates new Wi-Fi passwords. If devices are to be used for Registered4OSU Wi-Fi network, submitting a bulk registration for already-registered devices will result in a loss of connectivity for those devices until they are reconfigured.

Fill out rows 11 and onward for each device needing registered, following these guidelines:
Field NameValue
Is Device:Always “Yes”
MAC Address:12-character device identifier with dash delimiters (e.g., 11-11-11-aa-bb-cc)
