Visio

Create flowcharts, org charts, network diagrams and more.

Microsoft Visio in Microsoft 365 (on the web) is a diagramming and vector graphics tool that allows users to create visual diagrams. You have access to Visio in Microsoft 365 as part of your Microsoft 365 account. You can choose to upgrade to one of the two available subscription plans at an additional cost to your department (see the Purchasing Visio Plan 1 or Plan 2 guide for steps to purchase):

  • Visio Plan 1: Includes the web version of Visio, enabling users to create, view and edit diagrams online. It offers basic templates and collaboration features.
  • Visio Plan 2: Provides full access to the Visio desktop app, along with advanced features like data connectivity, custom shapes and integration with Microsoft 365 apps like Excel and Power BI.

Visio Professional is a standalone desktop application that offers advanced diagramming capabilities, such as database modeling and complex network diagrams. Unlike Visio in Microsoft 365, Visio Professional is not included in Microsoft 365 subscriptions and must be purchased separately as a one-time license or as part of specific enterprise agreements.
