Tableau Permissions and Access

Determine who can access each Tableau Dashboard

Use the Tableau Object – Group Members view

  • A tab in the Tableau Object dashboard, it lists all group members and cost center.

Use the D&A Team – Group Email List

  • Lists all members in a group, CCH6, email, and last Server login. Helpful if you’re working to communicate to a group of individuals who have access to your project,  such as publishing a new report or an issue around data.

Tableau Dashboards used to determine access

D&A Team – Group Email List

  • This list can be used to cross reference groups you are responsible for.

Helpful Note:

For example, use a VLOOKUP to cross reference exported spreadsheets of the project groups you are responsible for with the D&A Team – Tableau License Management Dashboard. After missing names are determined or individuals who should be removed, submit a Bulk Request form.

Tableau Object - User Permissions view

  • This view is designed to show objects (projects, dashboards, etc.) you own. It also displays Cost Center information and if an individual can or cannot access the object.

Helpful Note:

It’s helpful if you’ve inherited work or a mixture of groups/individuals are given access to your content. Clicking on the object name takes you directly to the object where you can adjust permissions.
