Purpose of Course
All current Ohio State employees — including all university and medical center faculty, staff (regular, term, temporary, and intermittent), graduate associates and student employees — must complete the Reporting Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training in BuckeyeLearn by October 29, 2024. The training fulfills a mandatory requirement by the Auditor of State. The training is required once every four years for current employees and at the time of new employee onboarding.
Assignments
Reporting Fraud, Waste, and Abuse is centrally assigned to all university and medical center faculty, staff (regular, term, temporary, and intermittent), graduate associates and student employees. The training is assigned in late September and due at the end of October every 4 years for current employees. A dynamic assignment runs daily to assign the training to new employees. New employees must complete the training within 30 days of the transcript assignment date. For more information about the assignment, visit the Trainings page.
Equivalencies and Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this training.
An accessible version of “Reporting Fraud, Waste, and Abuse” is in the description of the training in BuckeyeLearn. Users can also search for the alternate version in BuckeyeLearn by entering “Accessible Version of Reporting Fraud, Waste, and Abuse” in the search bar. Once the alternate version is marked complete, it will also automatically compete the non-accessible version on their transcript as well.

Common Questions/Issues
The assignment criteria for Reporting Fraud, Waste, and Abuse are pre-determined. Therefore, if you do not see the training on your transcript, you fall outside of the criteria and are not required to take the training. Example of excluded populations: guests, volunteers, and non-employees.
New employees are auto assigned the training within 1-2 days of their start date and will have 30 days to complete it.
