Review the topics below for important reminders about your role and responsibilities as a BuckeyeLearn administrator.
Training You Should Not Assign or Remove From a Transcript
You must never assign certain university-wide compliance trainings or use it within any curricula that you create. Training of this type is often about sexual harassment or other compliance topics. Always contact the content owner or the BuckeyeLearn Support team before you assign or use any training you do not own.
You must never remove university-wide compliance trainings. If you believe a training should be removed that you do not own, contact the OU admin for that area or the BuckeyeLearn Support team.
Examples include: STEP UP Against Sexual Misconduct; Institutional Data Policy
Other Administrators' Work
While you may only have permission to change items for your area, you may, in some circumstances, be able to see and change other administrators’ work in BuckeyeLearn. You should never change or use the work of another administrator outside of your area without express permission. Just because you can access something does not mean you should.
This applies to training content, learning assignments, groups, and any other work that another administrator has done in the system.
Communicating With Other Administrators
It is crucial that you communicate with administrators, the Operations Committee, and the BuckeyeLearn Support team, especially when you want to assign another area’s training to your learners, when you make changes to your training that other areas use (such as updating or retiring training), or want to use another areas’ training in a curriculum.
This means that you must let other administrators know when you want to use or assign their training. You must also let administrators know if you plan to change your training, such as renaming or retiring it.
You must also let other OU admins know when you plan to assign training to their users so they can be prepared for questions.
BuckeyeLearn Standards
All training in BuckeyeLearn is required to comply with the BuckeyeLearn Standards.
OU admins are responsible for sharing the BuckeyeLearn Standards with others in their area - both other administrators and those who create content for BuckeyeLearn - and for ensuring the BuckeyeLearn Standards are followed.
Even if you did not develop or enter the training, you are responsible for its compliance with the BuckeyeLearn Standards.
Duplicate Training
Training must not duplicate training that is already in BuckeyeLearn. Any exceptions must be reviewed and approved by the Enterprise Training Governance Committee.
Environments
Pilot must never be used to review the content of courses, only that the functionality of the course works with BuckeyeLearn.
