The location code of a class helps convey to students where the class will physically be meeting, which is especially helpful for those offerings that do not meet on campus grounds. For Columbus campus offerings, location codes that are outside of Franklin and the six contiguous counties will also serve to exempt students from the miscellaneous fees associated with enrolling in classes at the Columbus campus, for example, the COTA and the Ohio Union fees.
