Plan Your Endorsement Journey

Ready to take your first steps toward an endorsement? Use this checklist to guide your progress. 

Participate and Learn

  1. Browse our endorsement offerings to determine which endorsement you would like to pursue. You may work toward earning more than one at a time, but note that you must apply for each endorsement individually.

  2. Familiarize yourself with the requirements and time commitment for your chosen endorsement. 

  3. Visit the Teaching and Learning Resource Center to browse and register for eligible programming. Bookmark this page—new workshops are added to the schedule throughout the year! 

  4. Make sure all events you register for make it onto your calendar. Be ready to engage as an active participant. 

  5. Keep an eye on My Transcript in BuckeyeLearn to track your completed workshops and progress toward endorsement. 

Reflect and Apply

  1. Once you’ve completed all requirements, check out the Application Timeline and rubric provided by the Drake Institute. 

  2. Reflect on your learning. When you submit your application, you will be asked to respond to the questions below. To provide a thoughtful and high-quality response, we suggest that you brainstorm and draft your answers in advance.

    1. Please describe 2 or 3 highlights of the endorsement programming. These might include new information or research encountered, a different teaching method or practice presented, themes across activities, or networking/peer-to-peer opportunities. (300-500 words)

    2. As a result of completing this endorsement, what changes, refinements, or adjustments to current teaching practices will you make in the short and long term? (300-500 words)

    3. What are your next steps for professional learning on this or a new topic, and/or how do you plan to disseminate or share your experiences with peers through publishing, presenting, or mentoring? (300-500 words) 

  3. Apply for endorsement! Consult My Transcript in BuckeyeLearn as you list the event titles and dates of the programming you completed.

  4. Check the Application Timeline and note when you should expect your award notification. You will be notified via email from the Institute for Teaching and Learning.
