Ohio State Welcomes National State Authorization Experts
The Ohio State University’s state authorization team helped host the annual workshop for the State Authorization Network of Ohio (SAN-O) on November 2, 2018. The event welcomed attendees from Ohio, Indiana, North Carolina and Colorado and was held at Franklin University. Ohio State collaborated with peers at Franklin University, Sinclair Community College and the University of Cincinnati to bring in national experts, share best practices and provide networking opportunities for state authorization professionals. Highlights of the workshop included:
- A presentation on evolving federal regulations from Cheryl Dowd, director of the national State Authorization Network
- Analysis of the recently released NC-SARA Enrollment Report and Out-of-State Learning Placements Report from Marianne Boeke, associate director for Policy Research and State Support at NC-SARA
- A panel discussion on best practices in student tracking and licensure disclosures with representatives from Ohio State, Purdue University, Franklin University and East Carolina University
SAN-O is a grassroots regional effort to share state authorization best practices. The annual workshop provides an opportunity for state authorization professionals throughout the region to network with colleagues and discuss best practices.
