This role is assigned to personally owned game consoles (e.g., Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, etc.) that are managed by Ohio State students, faculty, or staff. Authorization into this role requires registering the device using an active OSU Internet Username.

How to connect
Students, faculty, and staff with an active OSU Internet have permission to register a device’s Wi-Fi MAC address at the My Devices registration system and assign it to the OSU Game Console network role.
Once registered, choose Registered4OSU from the list of Wi-Fi networks and use the password provided in the device registration receipt sent to the email provided during registration.
IP (Internet Protocol) Addressing
Devices placed in the game console role are assigned to publicly routable IP address space. IP address reservations are not supported. IPv6 addresses are not currently supported for this network role.
Additional Information for IT Teams
This game console role should be used solely for personal devices that will not function properly if undergoing IP address translation. Otherwise, use the default OSU Registered Device role.
