Google Contacts is a personal cloud address book.
Key Features and Benefits
- Automated Data Capture & Enrichment: Automatically populates "Other Contacts" when scheduling with new individuals. It extracts context like profile photos, job titles, and company details automatically. Typing a few letters of an external partner's name or company instantly pulls up their information —even if it was not saved manually.
- "Merge & Fix" Intelligence: Identifies duplicate records, formatting inconsistencies, or missing fields across thousands of contacts and resolves them in one click.
- Organization with Labels & Custom Fields: Categorize people into dynamic, groupable labels (e.g., Project Alpha, Vendors) for instant bulk mailing and invites. Supports custom metadata like NDA status, grant IDs, or client tags. Typing a single label name immediately adds everyone tagged under that label.
- Workspace Integration: Directly embeds into Google Meet. Users can start chats, trigger video calls, or view interaction histories directly from a contact side-panel.
Google Contacts can be accessed from the Contacts icon in Google Dashboard or through the web browser at www.google.com/contacts. Remember, log in using your Ohio State username (lastname.#@osu.edu) and password to use the Ohio State managed account.
