Checklist for Moving ODS to RAE

A checklist was created in the spring of 2025 to assist users who needed to transition from the ODS to the RAE. Below are the steps that were included in that checklist.

  1. Have you requested your individual account in the RAE?
    1. Go to https://osuitsm.service-now.com/selfservice/order_splash, select the Access Management category, and then click on the Enterprise Data for Analytics Access

    2. You will access your password in PAM. Retrieving Your Password From PAM
  2. How do you connect to the RAE instead of the ODS?
    1. Connection information for the RAE needed for tools other than MS Access.
      Name: redshift-prd.rae.osu.edu
      Host: osu-edw-prd-01.cys8zs8qp7jm.us-east-2.redshift.amazonaws.com
      Port: 5439
  3. Do you need to update your ODBC driver?

  4. If you are an MS Access user have you updated your databases to point to the RAE instead of ODS using the re-linker tool?

  5. Are you a dBeaver user, or use an odbc/jdbc compliant application or professional language?

    2. The dBeaver instructions will work for other query tools as well.
  6. Are you signed up to receive updates?
    1. The same email list that was used for the ODS will be continued for the RAE. If you are already signed up, you do not have to sign up again.

      Note: It is recommended you sign up for updates because all project updates are being sent using this list, as well as information regarding downtime and late loads.
