Web Accessibility Certified Tester (W-ACT)

Audience:

The Web Accessibility Certified Tester (W-ACT) training is a comprehensive program designed to transform you into a professional accessibility evaluator, capable of performing full manual evaluations of websites and web applications at The Ohio State University.

Curriculum Journey
The W-ACT program moves from foundational principles to advanced technical mastery through eight modules. The program concludes with a comprehensive capstone audit where a score of 80% or higher earns your W-ACT certification. Throughout the program, you will perform three hands-on, real-world exercises. By completing these exercises, you will build the technical proficiency and confidence required to navigate the final certification exam.

Time Commitment
This is an in-depth program. While introductory modules take approximately 30 minutes, technical modules and exercises can take 2–4 hours each. In total, the modules and exercises will take about 20 hours to complete. The Final Evaluation is a deep dive into a real-world scenario, estimated at ~40 hours of comprehensive work.
