The Enterprise Project

Overview

We are replacing the outdated Ohio State Finance, Human Resources and Student Systems with a modern, cloud-based solution (Workday) while standardizing and simplifying related business processes and reporting. The resulting processes and reporting will be more consistent, easier to use and understand.

Why the Enterprise Project is important

We've confirmed and are pleased to announce that the university will see significantly expanded process, system and reporting benefits by moving forward with replacing all three core administrative systems (Financials, HR and SIS) with Workday. Other commonly used tools like eReports, eRequest and eTravel will also be replaced. Our current administrative systems are outdated and inefficient. They cause inflexibility in business processes and business and technical risk due to their age and customization. Updating these systems and the processes together provides tremendous opportunity to move Ohio State forward. Moving to a cloud-based system eliminates the large upgrades from our future management of these tools.

What success will look like

At the conclusion of the Enterprise Project, the university will have standard and efficient business processes, effective and robust business intelligence (BI) and analytics, unqualified financial audits, consolidated reporting, and a streamlined operational support organization.

Getting prepared!

The Learn More section is a great starting point to understanding the Enterprise Project and how Workday will be implemented at Ohio State. The Answers to Frequently asked Questions page will help explain the move to Workday and the Enterprise Project Glossary will help you become familiar with new terminology. Readiness and training tools will be made available just as with past university system implementations.
