Awards component of eActivity available with Workday data

eActivity Awards reports are now available via Tableau Server. These reports cover award activity since Workday was implemented in January 2021. The Proposals and Expenditures components of eActivity will be available soon.

The information available and the intended use of eActivity Awards has not changed. However there are some differences from the legacy eActivity Award report including separate Summary and Detail reports.

  • The Summary report includes award activity totaled by College/Unit with the option to drill into totals by Cost Center.
  • The Detail report includes the award specific breakdown of the totals from the Summary report including:
    • Award Number, Name, and Version Number
    • Amendment Reason and Description
    • Sponsor information
    • Principal Investigator information
    • Amendment Change Amount, Authorized Amount, and Total by Cost Center
  • Both reports include the ability to filter results by College, Cost Center, Award Number, Sponsor Name/Type, Proposal ID, and other criteria.

More information about accessing the reports in Tableau Server are available in an eActivity job aid, found in the Administrative Resource Center.

Grants personnel, including Grant Managers and Principal Investigators, have been given access to the eActivity Awards reports in Tableau Server. If access is needed to Grants reports for someone who was not given access automatically, submit an Enterprise Data for Analytics Access Request using IT Self Service. For more information, see the Data and Tool access page of Data@OSU.  Expand the Reporting and Analytics Environment (RAE) Access section for specific request steps. When completing the form, request access to the “Finance and Supply Chain – Grants Management: Reporting” data domain.

General Tableau Server job aids are available in the ARC. If you need additional help using Tableau, contact your local Tableau Project Leader or the IT Service Desk.

If you need help interpreting or using the eActivity Award reports, contact James Duade, duade.1@osu.edu.
